    * The Reverb/Delay combination is the only digital effect in the ME-5, and comes last in the chain, followed only by a Master Volume. All the others
are analogue - are the actual standalone pedals of the era in fact but with preset parameter increments instead of continuous sweep dials.

    * You can stereo out the back of the ME-5 for all the FX. Is a good way to run 2 amps also although you can get ground loop hum with certain equipment - but that is the same for any such setup.

Also, the only stereo effect in the ME-5 is the reverb.

All the effects in the ME-5 are digital. It's successor (ME-6) employed an analog overdrive.

Nice site, I have been using the ME-5 since 1988, with a short period when I used the ME-10, but that one broke down after a few years, the ME-5 is still going strong, I have 3 of them now and have no use for any other multi effect board, I use a few other pedals in the send return, and after the board, to get stereo delay and phaser.
But I really love that board and the sounds in it, not that I use a lot of presets, normally just 4, so there is a lot of storage space that I don't use :-)

Very informative. A very good point you make that is lost in all the technological advances and advertisements - THE ME-5 IS ANALOG. I just may keep my eye out for one of these. And many thanks for the Rory Gallagher reference.

hey there and thank you for your info Ive definitely picked up something new from right here. I did however expertise a few technical points using this site, as I experienced to reload the web site many times previous to I could get it to load properly. I had been wondering if your web hosting is OK? Not that I'm complaining, but sluggish loading instances times will very frequently affect your placement in google and could damage your high-quality score if advertising and marketing with Adwords. Well I am adding this RSS to my email and can look out for a lot more of your respective fascinating content. Ensure that you update this again soon..

@Elmar Riachi - All ME-5s get sticking buttons - this can be partly alleviated with some electrical contact cleaner spray.

The footswitch probably just requires some contact cleaner too. If you purchase the Upgrade Set here, you get a copy of the workshop manual included to help with further maintenance etc.!!
